Restore a backup on another device
Restore replaces that device’s current journal.
1. Export a backup of the destination device’s current journal if you want to preserve it. There is no automatic merge between journals.
2. Open Backup → Restore or decrypt. Choose the encrypted bundle and its matching key file, then enter that backup’s password.
3. Select Unlock and restore. Read the confirmation and the number of memories. Choose Replace and restore only if this is the journal you intend to use.
4. Check the restored profiles, memories, photos and family tools. A provider package contains a selected subset, so do not mistake it for your complete journal backup.
If decryption fails, check that the key and bundle references match, that the full files finished copying, and that you entered the original password exactly. Keep the failed files intact. Do not repeatedly erase app data to solve a backup error.
